Testing SAIF Exchange Email Synchronization
After configuring and checking settings on your smart phone, we recommend testing the Mail, Contacts, and Calendar features using the following steps. If testing fails, please call IS&T hotline or send email to helpdesk@saif.sjtu.edu.cn.
Test Email
● On the smartphone, tablet or office 365 web portal, open Mail.
● Send a new message to yourself.
● Confirm that the message was received in the Inbox of your Exchange account and in Mail on the smartphone or tablet.
Test Calendar
● On the smartphone or tablet, or office 365 web portal, open Calendar.
Note: When opening the Calendar, there may be a delay of several seconds in synchronizing with the Exchange server.
● On your computer, open your Exchange Calendar.
● Compare events between these calendars and confirm the entries are correct.
● Create a test event on the smartphone or tablet. Confirm that the event synchronizes to other devices and SAIF web portal.
● Create a test event on your Exchange calendar. Confirm that the event synchronizes to the device.
Test Contacts
● On the smartphone or tablet, or office 365 web portal, open Contacts.
● On your computer, open your Exchange contacts.
● Confirm that the contacts are correct. (If you have numerous contacts, do a random sample instead of checking every single contact.)
● Create a contact on the smartphone or tablet. Confirm that the contact synchronizes to other devices and SAIF web portal.
● Create a contact in your Exchange contacts. Confirm that the contact synchronizes to the smartphone or tablet.
