Video conferencing is an audiovisual online meeting strategy that allows teachers and students to meet virtually through platforms such as Zoom, Tencent Meeting / VooV. It provides teachers an avenue for supporting virtual lessons with interactive and engaging real-time, synchronous, learning experiences. In remote and blended teaching, video conferencing takes the place of in-person classroom social and academic interactions which are important for teaching and learning. Video conferencing can facilitate communication, connection, and engagement through screen sharing, interactive presentations, real-time chat and polling, break-out rooms, and file sharing
There are two Institute-supported tools available for hosting online meetings: Tencent Meeting / VooV, Zoom
Zoom
Before you can use Zoom, you must install the Zoom software for your device. Start by going to the Zoom Download Center, and clicking Download in the footer.
It’s a good idea to install that software ahead of time so it doesn’t delay your first meeting; however, if you haven’t yet done that, Zoom will automatically start downloading the application to your device. You’ll need to install it before you can start your meeting.
